The Red Shoe Society is a group of young professionals with a collective goal to help make a difference in the lives of families with seriously ill children receiving treatment at a nearby medical facility.
As stewards of the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House, Red Shoe Society members work together to raise money, volunteer their time and talents, and network with a slew of active community members. Red Shoes are not the only thing to make society members stand out. Red Shoe Society members are leaders. There are many ways to get involved with the Red Shoe Society and help make a difference.
Fundraising
The Long Beach Ronald McDonald House relies on philanthropic gifts from the community to sustain the needs of the House. Help plan fun and unique fundraisers such as a Red Shoe Society Gala, Walk for Kids and Dine to Donate nights at local restaurants. You will also develop and discuss new or upcoming fundraising programs.
Social Events
Social events are a great way to recruit new members, mix with new and old members, and enjoy fun activities with Long Beach’s finest young professionals. These events provide a relaxed and social atmosphere, while staying connected to the mission of the charity.
Volunteer
The Long Beach Ronald McDonald House is always in need of volunteers. RSS members could plan a monthly evening to cook a meal for our families through our Feast of the Hearts program, bake treats for the families, assist with day-to-day operations, light housekeeping, host game nights, create fun activities for the families or help out with an event.
Leadership
There are a number of leadership opportunities within the Red Shoe Society. Members can coordinate volunteers as an activity team leader, chair one of the organization’s various social and fundraising events, or serve as one of the RSS’s elected leaders. Also, RSS members may participate in the charities various committees and work groups. Participating in RSS prepares young professionals for membership on a non-profit or philanthropic board.
Who Can Join
Membership fees are $125 annually - this is the cost to fully fund a family's one night stay here at the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House.
All young professionals in their early 20's to early 40's are welcome to join. We hope you will join a group that is making a difference for families in our community.
