Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times® offers a variety of residential camping opportunities for cancer patients, their siblings and parents all year long!
Our programs include:
Family Camp
Family Camp is a weekend-long experience open to support families who have a child with cancer ages newborn – 8 years old. Family Camp is an opportunity for your family to come together for a relaxing weekend. Parents and their children can play together without having to worry about making meals, doing the dishes or worrying if their child will have access to quality medical care. Parents connect with each other and receive support and build friendships with other families who understand what it means to raise children during treatments and procedures for cancer. Camp is designed to be fun and supportive for all members of the family, giving everyone a chance to laugh, learn and love together.
For the convenience of our families, we provide free, round-trip luxury bus transportation to and from Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House or Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House and the campsite. Families are welcome to drive directly to Camp for the weekend.
Summer Camp for Ages 9-15
Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times® offers a 6 day, 5 night Summer Camp experience that will create lifelong memories and friendships. We offer activities of a “normal” camp, adapted to meet the special needs of our campers.
Our programs are intentionally designed to promote campers’ self-esteem, confidence, friendships and teamwork in an environment that is medically supervised and filled with support, understanding, fun and laughter. Developing these skills can help campers successfully meet the challenges of treatment, school, work and family.
Activities include all of the traditional elements of a camp. Swimming, horseback riding, hiking, backpacking and other sports can be adapted as needed, to ensure each person is able to participate regardless of his or her level of ability or challenge. Campers can express their creativity through arts, crafts, pottery, music, dancing, performing arts and radio broadcasting. They are given the opportunity to challenge themselves and gain valuable communication skills at our Adventure Courage Course and 50-foot climbing tower.
